The artist Dee Andreini is known for plein air oils, acrylics, and landscape paintings. She was born in San Francisco, and grew up in Northern California. Dee has a Fine Arts Degree from the California State College of Sonoma.

Denise Leite is a Petaluma artist that paints human figures in a surreal, circus like world. She calls it “psychological alchemy”.

Diana Lee

Diana Lee (died 2016) created fine art scratchboard renderings, and taught for the International Society of Scratchboard Artists. Her etchings are on white kaolin clay (porcelain) and sprayed with a layer of thin black ink.

Lee also wrote the book Starting From Scratchabout her techniques with black and white and color scratchboaring.

Diana Majumdar

Diana Majumdar is known for encaustic and mixed media artwork, inspired by nature. She was born and raised in Estonia, before settling in Sonoma County.

Don Van Amerongen

The artwork of Don Van Amerongen is influenced by art history, music and travel. Art history gives him perspective and music often matches his personal energy while he works. Living and traveling in several cultures, Don has developed compassion and empathy for other peoples, cultures and experiences, and “the gift of seeing another perspective”

Don has a BFA in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, and also studied painting and printmaking at Sonoma State University. He also holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Kendall School of Design, Michigan.

Donna DeLaBriandais

The Sonoma county native, Donna DeLaBriandais is a plein air Impressionist painter who specializes in California landscape paintings. Donna also enjoys teaching, and offers workshops in watercolors, oil painting and drawing. Donna attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and a summer at LaRomita School of Art in Italy. She received a B.A. degree from the University of San Francisco.

Frank Krueger (1926-2003) was an architect and artist who worked in various media. He was a member of the National Watercolor Society, a prize winner in various shows, and an officer and member of the Arts Guild of Sonoma for many years.

Gayle Manfre is an artist and educator who was born in San Francisco, and moved to Sonoma in 1980. She works in watercolors and acrylics, and directs children on mural projects. Gayle also works for the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, leading the “Arts Rewards the Students” program.

George Dawnay paints figures, portraits and murals. He began decorative mural painting in Italy working with Alexander Hamilton in the mid-1990′s. George’s murals now grace buildings in Larkspur, Tiburon, Monterey, and Sonoma.

Helen Mehl is an artist and art teacher who is interested in conveying wellness and Feng Shui through her work. She combines brightly painted colors, layers, textures and symbols. Helen received her Master of Arts degree at San Jose State University, and a B.A. degree from Stanford University in history and art. Helen has taught art in California, Pennsylvania and Hawaii.

Helene Minelli

Artist Helene Minelli (1918-2010) was a native of Sonoma Valley, born on a ranch in 1918, and the Valley inspired her lifelong creative works. Her mediums were oil, acrylic, and especially watercolor. She dedicated an impressive amount of service to the local art community, including: President of the Sonoma Valley Art Center and Gallery, later known as Valley of the Moon Art Association; founder of the North Coast Viticulture Art Exhibit and Sales; Trustee on the Board of Society of Western Artists; and Judge for the Society of Western Artists, San Francisco.

Henry White is an artist and musician that uses oil paints to create sweeping Sonoma landscapes, still lifes and portraits. His work is on display at the Upstairs Art Gallery in Healdsburg, Towers Gallery in Cloverdale, and Riverfront Art Gallery in Petaluma.

Irene Guidici Ehret is a watercolor artist who was born and grew up in the small town of Angels Camp, California. She teaches classes in intermediate and advanced watercolor, and nature journaling. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. She has had one-woman shows in Maryland, Italy, Rhode Island, Virginia, and California.

Irene Rowley began this website and writes a blog, to promote the fine artists of Sonoma County. She is a fine artist, painter and illustrator, who grew up oil pointing, acrylic painting and drawing landscapes and portraiture<. Irene has a B.A. in English and Studio Art from the University of California, Davis and works in web development and creative services. Irene simply loves art! Sonoma County is a beautiful place to paint!

Before devoting herself full time to fine art, she worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, graphics manager and art director.
