Art at the Source

“Discover the artistic abundance and natural beauty of Sonoma County … the 21st “Sebastopol Center for the Arts looks forward to welcoming you to our free self-guided Art at the Source open studio tour of western Sonoma County. Since 1995, Art at the Source (AATS) has offered Sonoma County artists an opportunity to show and sell their work in the summer open studio event. Each year art enthusiasts and collectors visit Art at the Source studios to meet the artists, see their work, and purchase beautiful local art.”
This program is run annually by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts in Western Sonoma County. Visit the online gallery year-round at www.artatthesource.org.

Art Trails of Sonoma County
Art Trails (aka Sonoma County Art Trails) is an annual fall open studio program that invites the public to visit artists in their studios, to purchase artwork directly from the artists, and to visit other destinations within the County. The program is now run by the Sebastopol Center for the Arts.

The next Open Studios takes place September 18-19th, and 25-26th, 2021.  More information is at sonomacountyarttrails.org

Arts Council of Sonoma County

The Arts Council of Sonoma County was a nonprofit founded in 1984 to represent the county’s art community. The organization managed the popular ARTrails program until October 2013 (see Art Trails). Unfortunately the Santa Rosa Press Democrat reported in October 2013 that the Arts Council had to shut down, in the middle of an Art Trails event: “The group that organizes the popular ARTrails program underway this weekend has run out of money and has laid off its four-person staff.”

Arts District of Downtown Santa Rosa

Downtown Santa Rosa is now a designated Arts District. The Community is encouraged to bring art and cultural events to the district, benefiting the area and the entire region.

The goal of the Arts District is to create a beautiful and inspiring destination that maximizes the public’s opportunities to experience art. With venues like Courthouse and Railroad Squares, Juilliard Park, Luther Burbank Home and Gardens, the SOFA District and The Sonoma County Museum, a wide range of arts and cultural experiences celebrate a wide spectrum of arts media and expressions.

Arts Guild of Sonoma

The Arts Guild of Sonoma (the town) is a non-profit, public educational arts organization whose purpose is to showcase artists of our community.

Also known as: Sonoma Arts Guild.

Charles M. Schulz Museum

View the largest collection of original Peanuts artwork in the world at the Charles M. Schulz Museum. Visitors can see Charles Schulz’s original comic strips, learn about the art of cartooning and Schulz’s role in its development, view a re-creation of Schulz’s art studio, watch animated Peanuts specials and documentaries in the Theatre, and draw their own cartoons in our hands-on education room.

The Healdsburg Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating, inspiring and promoting the arts through community education programs, events, and exhibits.

Luther Burbank Center for the Arts

“Founded in 1981, the non-profit Luther Burbank Center for the Arts is the North Bay’s premier Arts Center presenting world-class performances, nationally recognized education programs, contemporary visual arts, and many popular community events…. hosting performances in music, theater, dance, comedy, family programming and renowned speaker events; and serving more than 30,000 children and adults annually through its nationally-recognized education programs.”

The organization was previously known as the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts. In February 2016, the Press Democrat reported the name changed to the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts.

Occidental Center for the Arts

Petaluma Arts Center

The Petaluma Arts Center is at the intersection of people and art in downtown Petaluma: “View an exhibition. Take a class. Rent space for an event. Enjoy a concert, film, spoken word or theatrical event. We are three blocks East of Downtown, next to the Visitor’s Center at the Historic Railroad Station.”

Sebastopol Center for the Arts

As a Regional Art Center, the Sebastopol Center for the Arts is an arts organization in Sonoma County that presents exhibits, performances, classes and events, in the visual, performing, literary and film arts. It also leads the Art at the Source Open Studios in the summer, and the Sonoma County Art Trails in the Fall.

Sonoma Community Center

The Sonoma Community Center hosts art events and classes year round. Artists in residence hold open studio events, and Gallery 212 supports the creative exploration in fine art, fiber art, ceramics, theater, movement, music, and sustainable living with rotating art exhibits that highlight the community-based interests of Sonoma Valley.

Sonoma Plein Air Foundation
SPAF

The Sonoma Plein Air Foundation (SPAF) was created—and is managed—by a volunteer board of community leaders to ensure that students in Sonoma have access to visual arts education. SPAF sponsors the annual Sonoma Plein Air Festival, a weeklong celebration of outdoor painting. Since its inception in 2002, SPAF has distributed over $1,000,000 for school art programs and projects and sponsored: art-at-Lunch programs, large-scale school murals, visiting artist programs, poetry in the school program, painting and drawing workshops, and art supplies.
