George Dawnay paints figures, portraits and murals. He began decorative mural painting in Italy working with Alexander Hamilton in the mid-1990′s. George’s murals now grace buildings in Larkspur, Tiburon, Monterey, and Sonoma.
Gen Zorich is a Sonoma County painter and printmaker and produces Sonoma area landscapes and abstracts.
Gayle Manfre is an artist and educator who was born in San Francisco, and moved to Sonoma in 1980. She works in watercolors and acrylics, and directs children on mural projects. Gayle also works for the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art, leading the “Arts Rewards the Students” program.
Fred Vedder specializes in encaustic and natural fiber art, photography and multi-media drawing. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, before settling in Sonoma County, California. He works as a visual arts instructor at Roseland University Prep (RUP), and has an art studio in the arts district of Santa Rosa.
Frans Wildenhain (1905-1980) was a Bauhaus-trained German potter and sculptor. Right after World War II, he joined his first wife Marguerite Wildenhain in Sonoma County and worked as a teacher and artist with her at the Pond Farm Artists Colony. Frans then moved to Rochester, NY, and taught for many years at the School for American Craftsmen at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Frans Wildenhain received numerous prizes for his artwork, from (among others) the International Exposition in Paris (1939), the Albright Art Gallery (1952), the Brussels Worlds Fair (1958), and a Guggenheim Fellowship (1958).

Frank Krueger (1926-2003) was an architect and artist who worked in various media. He was a member of the National Watercolor Society, a prize winner in various shows, and an officer and member of the Arts Guild of Sonoma for many years.
The artist Erika Schmitt describes her works, “Vessels of The Soul” as “the depth of movement through the stillness of form.” Erika was born and raised in Delaware and attended art school at Kutztown University, Pennsylvania.
Erik Chipchase is known for artworks in letterpress, hot metal type, silkscreen and digital media. His subject matters often reflect his love for fin de siecle posters, early 20th century advertising, military subject matters, and historical detail.
Erik Paul is known for pop art painting as well as printmaking, etchings and block prints. He has a background in graphic design and sign making, and incorporates sign making techniques into his art, to develop printmaking in novel ways.
Ellie Portner is an artist of graphite drawings, oil painting, monoprints, paper collages, welded steel, and other mixed media.
Elizabeth Peyton creates drawings, mixed media, botanicals, collages and watercolor paintings.
The Sonoma county native, Donna DeLaBriandais is a plein air Impressionist painter who specializes in California landscape paintings. Donna also enjoys teaching, and offers workshops in watercolors, oil painting and drawing. Donna attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and a summer at LaRomita School of Art in Italy. She received a B.A. degree from the University of San Francisco.
The Sonoma County artist Don Ajello creates sculptures in bronze and wood, ceramics, and mixed media art.
The artwork of Don Van Amerongen is influenced by art history, music and travel. Art history gives him perspective and music often matches his personal energy while he works. Living and traveling in several cultures, Don has developed compassion and empathy for other peoples, cultures and experiences, and the gift of seeing another perspective”
Don has a BFA in painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, and also studied painting and printmaking at Sonoma State University. He also holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Kendall School of Design, Michigan.
Diana Lee (died 2016) created fine art scratchboard renderings, and taught for the International Society of Scratchboard Artists. Her etchings are on white kaolin clay (porcelain) and sprayed with a layer of thin black ink.
Lee also wrote the book Starting From Scratch, about her techniques with black and white and color scratchboaring.
Diana Majumdar is known for encaustic and mixed media artwork, inspired by nature. She was born and raised in Estonia, before settling in Sonoma County.
Denise Leite is a Petaluma artist that paints human figures in a surreal, circus like world. She calls it “psychological alchemy”.
The artist Dee Andreini is known for plein air oils, acrylics, and landscape paintings. She was born in San Francisco, and grew up in Northern California. Dee has a Fine Arts Degree from the California State College of Sonoma.
Dee Dushke is an artist who creates oil paintings, prints, portraiture and mixed media. She has a B.F.A. in Painting from Sonoma State University, California.
Debbie Harding is known for her fine art oil paintings and pastels, landscapes, portraits, and florals.
David Antonio is an abstract artist and painter. A quote from the artist: “For me, art has always been a portal to a parallel world.” David has a B.F.A. in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute, among other degrees.
David produces functional and art ceramics using textures, slips and glazes to add unique aspects to each piece. He uses various firing techniques – wood, pit, soda, raku and gas – to create his works.
David Kingwill is an abstract artist from Sebastopol, California. He paints with bright acrylics on canvas.
Dannell Powell is the creator of the series, The Mannequin Chronicles – Mannequin Art for the Masses, mannequin art and books, and also a fine artist and photographer, known for vintage themes and assemblages.
The artist Dana Hawley paints the landscapes of the Sonoma County Wine Country, on location and from her studio in Healdsburg.
Ceramic sculptress Cynthia Hipkiss creates sculptures that combine primitivism, humor and whimsy. The artist specializes in “wonderfully fat women engaged in such activities as attending a dinner party or walking a dog.” Cynthia Hipkiss attended the California College of Arts and Crafts, and graduated from Sonoma State College with a major in art.
Colin J. Lambert (1948-2015) was known for sculpture that is figurative, representational, classical and decorative. He created figurative bronzes, carved marble, stone sculptures, fountains, and garden works. He had a studio in Valley Ford, Western Sonoma. He studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles and in Europe. A quote from the artist: “Being an artist becomes a vehicle for the spiritual journey, each piece a milestone, marker or souvenir.
Colin Talcroft is an artist and photographer known for assemblage, collage, found object art, and monoprints.
Christine Gonzalves has been a Sonoma Valley resident, jewelry artist and mixed media artist since the early 1970’s. She is currently the President of the Arts Guild of Sonoma. Christine’s roots are in photography and ceramics. She works with encaustics, etched metals, cast silver, textiles and precious stones. Her art can be found year round at the Sonoma Art Guild off the Sonoma Plaza.
Christine Kierstead is an artist who paints abstracts, figures, landscapes and dog companions. Her work is on display Riverfront Art Gallery in Petaluma.
