Artist Roy Pearson was born in England and studied in London, before his move to Sonoma Valley. He enjoys a wide range of medium, and paints abstract, stylized and realistic subjects. You might see his work in Chevys posters and interiors, as he was their art director and artist before retirement.
Ruby Newman works in a variety of mediums on canvas, paper and prepared panels, also on custom mural designs. She enjoys creating abstracts, contemporary Plein Air landscapes, and figurative and still life studies. Ruby majored in Theatrical Design at the Carnegie Mellon University. She worked for the Santa Fe Opera, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Minneapolis Institute of the Arts and the International Opera Barga in Italy. She also worked over ten years on public projects through the San Francisco Art Commission, including several mural works and the restoration of the 1914 Golden Gate Park Carousel.
Ryan Peterson is an Petaluma artist who paints murals and expressionistic works.
Sally Baker is a watercolor artist of Sebastopol, California. She received a B.A. from the University of Southern California, and taught fine arts at Healdsburg High School for 20 years before retirement. Her subject matter includes desert landscapes, and a still life series that focuses on Asian artifacts, kimonos and bamboo.
Sally Cataldo is a watercolorist with an abstract and impressionistic style. Her work is published in the book, “The Basic Watercolor Answer Book”.
Sandra Lane paints landscapes and human forms on canvas and archival paper, in a rather abstract manner.
Sandra Maresca is a Western Sonoma County artist who provides abstract and impressionistic paintings, animals with attitudes, figures, narratives, still lifes and landscapes. She also provides small spirit totem sculptures, wall hangings and fiber accessories.

Sara Bell’s paintings, drawings and sketches are inspired by the world’s natural beauty. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, cum laude. Her subject matter includes children, people, landscapes, botanicals, creatures and symbolics.
Sargam Griffin paints contemporary, abstract and figurative paintings. Her artwork is comprised of multiple layers of paint, varnish, and resin.
Serena Hazard creates expressionistic and abstract paintings. Here subjects include the forces of nature in landscapes, and birds in flight.
Sherrie Lovler offers a combination of nature art and poetry. Sophia Shiloh McCloud is an artist and poet, and founder of the Intentional Creativity movement. Her workshops and books are created to empower people through intuitive painting and storytelling. Her books include: Color of Woman and Heart of the Visionary.

Soo Noga creates oil paintings, abstracts and modern expressions.
Sophie Acheson works primarily in printmaking, handmade papers and the book arts. Her miniature gold leaf paintings are created with oil paint and 23K gold leaf on dyed handmade paper.
Sterling Hoffman paints seascapes, landscapes, farmscapes, tractors and vintage vehicles, often on location. He is known for his oil paintings with a saturated pallet.
Suki Diamond offers a home living collection of pottery, home accessories and garden sculpture, handcrafted by the artist in Sonoma County. She has a ceramic studio and sculpture garden in Sebastopol, California. Working in traditional majolica technique, she employs color stains on a white background, and paints each piece in clear colors with stylized animals, people or designs. “All reflect her joyful observations of the world at large.”
Susan Cornelis is known for her watermedia paintings, and is interested in collage, story, and meditation. She also offers mixed media painting workshops from her Sebastopol art studio.
Susan Greer is a plein air artist and currently serves on the Steering Committee for the Arts Council of Sonoma County. She has also served on the Art Trails steering committee and the Sonoma County Museum Board. “I love exploring the transient light of California coastal lands, and ways in which the ordinary become extraordinary with each passing hour. I paint out-of-doors, or plein air, whenever possible.”
Susan Proehl is an abstract artist. Her work is colorful and often depicts an aerial perspective. She lives and works at her studio in Western Sonoma County, Sebastopol.
Susan R. Ball paints still life and landscapes in a realistic and impressionistic style. A quote from the artist: “With paint I have the tools to illuminate my subject and convey a tangible personal interpretation to connect with my audience.”
Susan Sohl (1945-2020) was known for her watercolors and collages made of Gesso, watercolors, torn papers, and acrylic inks. “I focus on individual expression and the development of a personal visual language.” In her Artist Statement, she wrote: “I am a curious person… My paintings reflect this intellectual and artistic curiosity…. The way I work with collage, for example, developed after months of experiments with gesso, watercolors, torn papers, and acrylic inks. No-one taught me how to create figures from paper and paste, but I struggled until I had the desired result. The Muse Series was the result.” About teaching art, she wrote: ” I focus on individual expression and the development of a personal visual language.”
Suzanne Jacquot, MFA, is a professional abstract painter and teacher in Sonoma County as well as co-owner at www.LivingYourWildCreativity.com. She shows her art locally as well as nationally as well as teaches abstract art workshops at her new large studio in Sebastopol and Online. A quote from the artist: “I find that there is a vastness of life that calls to be expressed….I am exploring my own inner visual language through gestural mark making and abstract expressionism.”
Sylvia Gonzalez creates a mix of pastel drawings layered on hand-made lithograph monotypes. She also offers limited edition Giclee prints and pastel workshops. Sylvia’s inspiration often comes from nature. She grew up in the Midwest and holds a BFA from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, before settling in Sonoma County.
Teri Sloat is a painter of folk art and landscapes, depicting the landscapes and creatures of the Alaskan tundra, the Pacific Northwest, and the ranches and hills of Northern California.
The artist Terry Sauvé from Western Sonoma is an oil painter of “luminous archetypal California landscapes”. She studied at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco.
Tom Swearingen is known for his photo-realistic and hyper-realistic style, whimsical art and oil paintings.
Thomas Creed creates California landscape paintings and murals in a traditional and realistic style.
